Is a Lack of Vision Killing Your Dreams?
Encourager-In-Chief: April 3rd, 2019
See your future before it becomes real.
One thing I’ve learned from working on a television series is how many people have no vision for the future. One of my clients overcame a crippling fire in her manufacturing facility, hung tough, and rebuilt her business. The following year, one of her competitors closed down his business and my client grew her company by 40%. In addition, to her surprise, some of my other clients replaced every seminar handout (more than 50) she had ever taken and surprised her and her sisters who flew in from around the country to see on her on the panel for my seminar entitled “Bouncing Back from Adversity.”
I asked her if she would like to tell her story on an episode of Focused on Success with Dave Romeo. She said that she was going to pass because she didn't see any upside to doing it. Can you imagine how many people would be inspired by this incredible story of perseverance in the face of adversity? Wouldn’t it be great to showcase all the people who came together to replace those lost treasures? Would you all love to see her surprised to find that her sisters had flown in from across the country to watch her on that panel?
As a coach, experience has taught me that other people also have difficulty seeing their potential. Vision is something foreign to them. What a shame. They’re missing out on all that could be accomplished. Is a lack of vision killing your dreams? Can you see your future before it becomes real? If you’re an entrepreneur, it’s important that you can see what your business will look like before you build it.
The better you get at visualization, the longer the reach you’ll have and the easier it will be for you to get investors and employees to come along with you. Without vision the people perish… and so do the dreams and businesses.
As a business owner, you are expected to lead everyone towards the future. Don’t let shortsightedness keep you from turning your dream into a reality. Embrace the unknown and be willing to let it take you to your greatest possible destiny.
