Leave Your Past In The Past.

Getting past your past.

One of the hardest things in life to overcome is a hurt from the past — especially if it happened in our childhood where so many of our reference points about the world are formed. It can damage relationships, keep us from truly enjoying life, and become who we were meant to be.

Remember that before you were even born, God knew you and had a plan for your life. It is your responsibility to discover it and fulfill that destiny. Yes, we are going to experience pain along the way. Recognize that those painful experiences are what help us form our character and our personality.

If you speak to people who’ve ever enjoyed success in this life, you’ll find that they had to overcome painful adversities as well. There’s no escaping them, but you can use those experiences for good.

When I was growing up, I went for a very long stretch of time where I was unsuccessful in romantic relationships. I thought that I might end up alone for the rest of my life. After a third, painful breakup in a row, I came to the realization that I cannot depend on any other human being in this world for anything. And so, I made an important decision: I decided that I had to learn to count on myself. While that decision was borne out of personal pain, it was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.

As a result, I learned the value of creating ironclad credibility when dealing with customers, friends, neighbors, and relatives. It’s very important to me that people know they can count on me. I’m sure you feel the same way. No matter what you’ve experienced in the past, there will always be the opportunity to use that to your advantage. I’m challenging you to leave the pain of the past in the past but use the lessons they bring to ignite your future.

Let me hear from you.
