Your Biggest Turning Point Revealed!

Encourager-In-Chief: February 21st, 2018

Don’t give up on your dreams too soon.

I recently did a sold-out presentation for 64 of my best clients. Even though all the material was written in advance, I had to go back and add something that I believed was the most important lesson they needed to hear that day. In the largest type on my lesson plan, I wrote the following message:

Your biggest turning point will come when you decide not to give up on something just because it gets difficult.

Many people don’t realize that no one else robs their dreams as much as they do themselves. They start with the premise that “If everything goes perfectly, I will keep going and achieve my dream.” The reality is that will never happen. Expect disappointments. Expect delays. Expect unforeseen challenges. But instead of being defeated by them, make a commitment to rise above them and to forge on to the positive completion of your dream.

In the great movie, Facing the Giants, a football coach makes one of his players do “the death crawl". He has another player lay on the back of the first player, while he crawls blindfolded on all fours to the 50-yard line of a football field. Repeatedly, the coach keeps yelling at him, “Don’t quit! Don’t quit! Don’t quit!” Before he knows it, he’s in the end zone. This is the level of determination you’ll need when things get tough.

I’m challenging you to alter your mindset. Stop letting yourself off the hook just because you have to work harder than you expected to achieve your dreams. I promise you that someday you’re either going to say to yourself, “I wish I had,” or “I’m glad I did.”

Victory belongs to those who believe in it the most and believe in it the longest. You’ve got to believe.
